Is There a Way to Upload Paper to Perrla

I have been using PERRLA for around a decade and have an old payment model (I paid one fourth dimension when I outset bought information technology and can put it on 3 computers at a time up to 2099). I use information technology for every major newspaper and retrieve it adds immense value. If I was paying the new annual subscription model, I don't know if there are better alternatives out at that place at that toll point.

I've merely used Noodletools, but am interested in exploring other programs.

I've got a ticket open up with them but in the meantime I'1000 going dorsum to Word.

I recollect EndNote has an online version, but it'south more often than not used every bit an add-on for Give-and-take.

At least I retrieve the online version may not be set for prime time as yet. I just a big chunk of work due to some glitch. I was done with all but the last section of my paper and logged in tonight to cease information technology up and start on the adjacent one when I discovered the last 3 sections that I completed, plus all the edits and other work I did, are now gone. I think EndNote has an online version, but it's mostly used equally an add-on for Discussion.

Luckily the papers I'm working on aren't then complicated to require something equally robust equally EndNote or Mendeley, simply I did consider those options. I want to give Perrla a hazard to set up this before I decide to pull the plug for proficient since I liked the tool upwards until this signal.

In the concurrently, I finished upwards the writing I needed for the concluding department of the paper in Word, then if I tin can restore the work from Friday, I should be done with the paper.

I'yard working with the Perrla customer service squad to endeavour and restore the lost work. They accept a versioning system so they can scroll back to before saves, simply so far they all await the same. And then part of me is wondering whether I had some glitch on my finish that was caching stuff oddly or something.

They sent me the saves log and 1 affair I did notice is that it looks similar they didn't make whatsoever saves in the terminal two hours of my piece of work, which suggests in that location may take been something weird on my side. From what they tell me if there were changes made during that time, they were probable lost since they didn't get saved, or they were somehow deleted. The CS rep is working with their engineering science team to see if they can see if there is a way to restore the lost data, just it doesn't look promising.

My approximate is that I'll only take to redo the eye sections of my paper. I by and large know what I wrote the start fourth dimension and then it should go faster, but it's still annoying to have to redo work. It'southward going to finish up wasting several hours that I could exist working on my second newspaper. Of course, past now I've too wasted several hours just going back and forth with CS.

I use PERRLA and cannot recommend them enough.

Last semester I had a research writing course at my local college with one of the toughest professors in the entire school. This guy is a nightmare with a horrendous pass charge per unit and negative reviews on Ratemyprofessor dating back most 2 decades.

PERRLA formatted my paper's to exact APA specifications, every bit well every bit my references. The software is uncomplicated and easy to use/navigate.

PERRLA allowed me to focus all of my energy into the content of my writing; it removed the fret of worrying nearly formatting (WHICH I DESPISE).

EDIT: I was able to pass that course with a 84 which I in large part aspect to PERRLA. I later found out through chatting with other students in my class that I was the Just student out of 19 to laissez passer with a B. the adjacent highest course was a 79. this was simply a 200 level inquiry writing class LOL, you lot'd call up the professor was overseeing our doctoral dissertations however.

I concord, every bit far as I tin can tell PERRLA is a great addon for people who are using Word. Unfortunately, I cannot use the app version since it doesn't work with the latest Mac version (Discussion xvi.x from Role 365) so I am forced to use the cloud-based version.

I've completed two papers using PERRLA Complete (which is what they phone call the online version of the production) and I like it quite a bit, merely I don't trust its reliability. Because of the glitch I mentioned before in the thread, I concluded upward losing at to the lowest degree a day's worth of work. The Perrla CS team was fantastic with trying to help me restore the lost data, simply in the end they were unable to do and so. Whatever acquired the glitch either caused the system not to save my changes or information technology deleted the last several hours of work.

I also constitute some problems with exporting papers from Perrla Complete to Discussion. It works fine in principle, but there are oddities like imbedded nonbreakable spaces hither and at that place, and occasionally the spaces between words are lost (normally in headings) so they end up running together in the exported file. Also, for some reason, the exported file doesn't utilise proper headings but rather imbeds TC field codes with bolded text. So the table of contents looks right but if you lot change the content you lot have to commencement show and so edit the field codes... it took me a while to figure that out.

Now that I know what to wait this is something I can fix on my own pretty easily, but it isn't intuitive. I assume the give-and-take app doesn't suffer from these issues only I cannot examination it.

So subsequently two completed papers, my concluding review is a thumbs down for the PERRLA Consummate product. At least for at present. Maybe they tin piece of work out the bugs in the future. At present if I could merely get them to update the Mac app and so I can use it with Word. I might pay for that if it has all the same features every bit the cloud product without the remote saving and funky formatting (the latter I assume is just a side result of the export process).

I am currently shopping around and curious if this program is even so worth information technology? It'southward $50 / yr, which seems high!

Thanks!

PERRLA is a great tool, especially if you're on a Windows machine and able to utilize the directly Word integration. If you're on the Mac, it isn't as good since the Mac integration isn't anywhere nearly as tight as the Windows version. Then, at least from the Mac user perspective, I still don't remember information technology is worth the $l/yr since there are gratuitous tools that tin can exercise most if not all of what PERRLA offers.

Equally for PERRLA online, I really liked information technology at start. Simply then I lost several hours of piece of work on a newspaper where all the changes vanished and were unable to be restored due to some glitch. And then I don't entirely trust the online version for annihilation critical. While I concluded upward using it to complete a few papers, I got into a habit of exporting my work every so often and importing information technology into Discussion, which added to the try and fourth dimension required to practise annihilation. I eventually migrated to Google Docs combined with Paperpile.

If you lot actually need assistance with sticking to APA or MLA for your papers, PERRLA is a smashing choice. But you can get the same results using a proficient Word template and commendation manager. That said, it is probably overkill for undergrad work. If y'all're doing graduate-level papers with a lot of inquiry, information technology would exist a ameliorate investment. Merely y'all may have amend luck with Endnote, Mendeley, or Zotero (or Paperpile like I ended up using).
